JWA's New York Workshop

We invite you to join us this June for an exciting workshop in Manhattan, "The Power of Our Stories." This new, two-day program will help you bring the rich legacy of Jewish social justice to life for your students and spark new opportunities for learners to explore Jewish identity.

During the workshop you will:

• INVESTIGATE themes in Jewish women’s history and the history of social movements in the U.S.;
• EXAMINE primary source documents, oral histories, and traditional Jewish texts;
• EXPLORE the wealth of resources on jwa.org, with emphasis on JWA's Living the Legacy social justice education project; and
• DEVELOP strategies and plans to teach Jewish history, Jewish values, and more.

The workshop is open to educators working in any formal or informal Jewish education setting. Our resources are written for use in grades 8-12, but we welcome educators working with students of all ages who are interested in adapting the material. Pleaseregister online by April 15, 2013. Places in the workshop will be given on a first come, first served basis.

Kosher lunches and snacks will be provided. We will provide written confirmation of professional development hours for those with continuing education or professional development requirements.

Please share this information on Facebook or Twitter, or forward this email to friends and colleagues in the New York area who may be interested. Feel free to email us or call (617) 383-6763.

We hope to see you at the workshop!
