Jewish Theological Seminary Lead Curriculum Developer – 4th – 5th Grade Overview of Project: Etgar Yesodi is a new 3rd – 5th grade curriculum designed for students in synagogue schools. The purpose of the curriculum is to provide synagogue educators with the tools they need to deliver a well articulated curriculum that spans multiple grades. Educators are provided with support in executing the curriculum through online meetings with the writers and phone support by an ETE (Etgar Teacher Educator).
The curriculum is designed using a combination of 4MAT and Ubd. When completed Etgar Yesodi will lead into Project Etgar, a 6th – 8th grade curriculum which has been in the field for over 10 years.
We are looking for a number of writers to help us complete the 4th and 5th grade curriculum in the next 9 – 12 months. The job is flexible and we will work to accommodate different schedules. Writers may work from home and meet with other team members using Webex for web conferencing.
Objective: Develop a plan and create an innovative 4th – 5th grade Etgar Yesodi curriculum building on our exisiting 3rd grade curriculum
Responsibilities: § Develop scope and sequence for 4th – 5th grade curriculum including performance outcomes § Create overview of 4th – 5th grade curriculum § Create 4th – 5th grade curriculum with a focus on incorporating the arts, experiential education, technology and family education where appropriate. o Consult with specialists as needed o Create applicable student materials such as worksheets, manipulatives, etc. § Design, plan and lead training for synagogue school education directors and teachers (may be in person or online); § Attend 4MAT § Adhere to production timeline
Job Requirements: Computer literate on Word and Davkawriter 4-MAT training Computer Phone, in person and online meetings scheduled as needed Ability to dedicate at least 2 – 3 days per week to the project
